Hot Links
Here's a list of links that I've found useful, and use on a
regular basis.
Geek Stuff
- Slashdot is the most
complete site I can stand reading for news of geek interest.
- Debian GNU/Linux is my
favorite Linux distribution.
- UserFriendly - a
comic strip about an ISP, a walking dust puppy, and an
A.I. named Erwin.
- Dilbert, hero of wage
slaves everywhere.
- I am a member of the
D/FW UNIX Users
Group. Their site has been flaky lately.
Sports
- The Green Bay Packers
12 time NFL champions, and the team I grew up with. They'll
always be my hometown team.
- Dallas Stars
Hockey Number 9 and the boys. Go Stars!
- Purdue Sports,
my alma mater. We can play football now too!
- ESPN online is still the
number 1 site for sports. GameTracker is a savior when the
game's not on locally.
News and Information
Entertainment
- the Internet Movie
Database has almost anything you'd ever want to know about
pretty much every movie ever made. Great for finding out what
else "That actor" was in.
- GameFAQs has FAQs,
message boards and review links for all sorts of video
games.
- The TiVo Community
Forums have lots of information on TiVo, the best thing to
happen to television since the remote control.
- DirecTV provides me
with the best and the worst mass media has to offer. NFL
Sunday Ticket is mandatory, when you live 1000 miles away from
your hometown team.
Other
- Weber BBQ has great
recipes and tips for grilling. They also make fantastic
grills.
- The Onion is a parody
news site. Funny stuff.
- Don't surf without
Google, the best search
engine on the web.
